The “Three Bit” Signature Series
A limited
edition series of artworks by
Kim Vogee, Howard Knight, and Robert Schaezlein.
Waitin’ A Turn is a
sepia 20-by-30 ultra chrome archival print taken at a ranch Cutting
Horse Competition by Natural Light Photographer Kim Vogee. This
piece was professionally framed with a dark primitive filet,
separating the inner mat of antique light Umbria from the top mat of
Mist. It was then branded by hand with the “three-bit” brand to
symbolize the collaboration of the three artists involved in
creating this one of a kind masterpiece. The frame is authentic
Texas barn wood, exposed to decades of the elements and then
completed using museum glass, the ultimate glazing option, which is
nearly invisible and provides less than one percent light reflection
and more than 90 percent ultra violet blocking capacity.
Howard Knight of
Rocking K Custom Leather was inspired to create the leather
tooling by the wild poppies found in California. Rocking K is now
located in Montana, and Howard took a sentimental journey to his
former home when making this unique work of art which demonstrates
his classic and timeless style of leather tooling.
Robert Schaezlein
III, of San Francisco’s R. Schaezlein & Son Western Silversmiths,
spent childhood summers at a ranch in Marin County California- back
when the land was open and the horses ran wild over the hills his
grandfather paid $2 an acre for. Robert created these solid gold
figures depicting the west and the life of the cowboy. The bottom
silver plate features a gold horse head; a rose gold lasso with
flowers and the barbed wire, strung between the fence posts, is made
of 14K gold.
The collaboration of
the three artists have created a collectible piece of artwork,
bringing to life the feel of a good horse and the patience it takes
to make one. The timeless quality of Waitin’ A Turn inspires
the viewer to share that special feeling about a way of life that
deserves the care and respect these artists have given it.
